Urban Greens is a member-owned cooperative in Providence, Rhode Island. They have operated a natural foods buying club for 10 years, and are currently working to open a cooperative grocery store. Their previous site did not focus on the grocery store project, had outdated design and branding, and was difficult for members to edit.

I worked with their board of directors to identify stakeholders, detail user needs and goals, and establish a development schedule. Drupal 7 was selected as the content management system. I developed a custom theme and coordinated with graphic designers for hand-drawn interface elements.

The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) is a California non-profit which rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured marine mammals, and provides education about marine mammals and their conservation. TMMC’s visitor center has an ipad kiosk that was being used to show a web page with newsletter information to visitors. They wanted a custom iOS app to provide information about donating to the center as well as newsletter sign up. The app needed to be compatible with a range of ipad models and resolutions as the center has several ipads which they bring to events. I worked with TMMC’s Guest Experience Manager to develop a scope and timetable for the project. I coded the project using Apple Swift 2.2 and also wrote several php scripts to integrate the app with TMMC’s content management system-based website.

Cornerstone Theater is a non-profit theater company that stages productions in collaboration with locals about local issues across California and the United States. They had an existing Wordpress site with a custom theme and several customized plugins. They wanted to modify the existing fixed-width site to support mobile devices. I mirrored the existing site on a new cloud-based LAMP server, added mobile-focused styles and scripts, and modified existing php and javascript scripts to work with the new mobile layouts. The modifications were tested to make sure that the desktop experience was unchanged.
